The MODERN humbuckers are built with unbalanced coils to have a proper DCR when in split mode while staying in a medium output ( 10 Kohm)
A low output bobbin like a PAF one ( 42 awg wire) and an high gain one ( 43 awg wire) , usually the screws poles one.. the result is a clear distorsion with enough K to go in overdrive and a wide frequency spectrum , complex tone with good high mids and a great punch.
